[Chapter 7.0.2] The Star Stones

A thunderous CRACK shook the air, startling the surrounding scholars to their paws. Whipping around, the ones tasked with guarding the Star Stone gawped at the sudden fissure down the side of the meteorite. Conversation died in an instant, eyes wide and staring at the spontaneous event. All these weeks of tests and explorations, experiments and inquiries, and nothing had yielded such a dramatic effect as this.

The meteorite shuddered and the crack raced across its surface, opening a rift straight down its middle. Cats raced off to alert their respective Silvers, others frozen to the spot as they bore witness to the opening of the Star Stone.

Splitting down the seam, the Star Stone's two parts slowly tipped away from each other, before crashing into the ground and sending up waves of water on both sides. Rocking on their rounded bottoms, they slowly grew still.

Air Tribe's master Scholar activated her powers despite the protest of the other scholars around her, crouching and leaping up to land on the edge of the meteorite.

And her breath left their lungs, eyes widening as she stared down into the open center of the Star Stone.



The meteorite had split open to reveal itself as a geode, crusted inside with stalagmites and stalactites of gemstones, prisms and pearls, glittering with every colour of the rainbow, shining as if stars themselves had been trapped inside.

"It's beautiful," she breathed, unheeding of the other scholars scrambling to join her atop it.

"What is it?" someone called from behind, and she glanced over her shoulder, momentarily unsure of how to reply.

Then, mind clearing, she said, "They're... Star Stones."

Star Stone Event: Part 2!

The Star Stone has cracked open, revealing itself to be a stunning geode! Inside, arcane crystals have been revealed, and they seem to be falling out in spades.

The gemstones within this meteorite will be available as one-time-only accessories! Not only are they out-of-this-world beautiful (heh!), they also happen to have magical properties! The effects of each Star Stone varies, but they appear to have powers that even the tribe cats don't.

- One submission equals one Star Stone accessory. You must write or draw your character crafting their Star Stone accessory! Because of the limited availability of these items, we are allowing one per character. Each Star Stone accessory will require its own submission and registry form!

- Each character is allowed one Star Stone accessory! Each character may only make one Star Stone accessory, even if they intend to give it away. (The exception to this rule is for parents whose kittens cannot make their own Star Stone accessories. In this case, the kitten's player must provide the submission, but in-character, it will be the parent that made the accessory itself.)

- Each Star Stone accessory has one Star Stone power!

- Members may choose which Star Stone power their characters' accessories will have!

- Members may also choose the shape and colour of their character's Star Stone accessory! (See below for examples.)

-These accessories must be registered, as they are exclusive to this event (see below for the registry form). Any instances of the Star Stone accessories being gifted to another character must be reported to the admins so that we can keep track of where the accessories are!

These Star Stone accessories will be one-of-a-kind! This is your only chance to ever give your character a Star Stone accessory!

I bet you're wondering, "What do these Star Stones look like?" or, "What powers do we get to choose from?" Well, wonder no more! HERE you may see the possible shapes and colours for the Star Stones, and HERE you may see the 25 powers that you have to choose from!

Please keep in mind that an accessory must be very simple, unless crafted by a specialty profession (blacksmiths, crafters, carvers, miners, diviners, collectors, chroniclers).

If your character is going to have a Star Stone accessory, you must fill out the following form and submit it via comment or note!:

Members will have until October 25th to create and register their Star Stone accessory! If you do not register your Star Stone by midnight EST on the 25th, it will not be considered canon, even if you sent in your submission.
